What Customers Say About Porter-Cable 8911 GripVac Handle Attachment:

All the dust is ejected quickly making it it no only easier to see but also minimizing burn out. The handle is relatively easy to install.I ordered it mainly for the dust collection benefit but find myself enjoying the added comfort provided by the handle itself. As for the dust collection, it really makes a difference when routing grooves dados or mortises.
Also as a tip, the hose becomes difficult to handle, what I did was attach a cable tie half way up the hose and then use a bungee cord to hang the hose from my ceiling. Otherwise a good 70% of the material shoots right past the base defeating the purpose of the vacuum. I could reconfigure my vac system and it would preform more decently. The hose coming down vertically keeps it out of the way, improves suction. You have to blow them out with compressed air. The attachment is okay.
The 1.25 " hose diameter is so small my vac system does not seem to provide enough suction. I've found the vac handle most usefull when doing routes on the inside of the material, where the dust has no way out but through the base. It is kind of clumsy to attach and you can easily loose a nut putting it together. And when routing on an egde you may need to install a sheild to force the material being ejected to vent into the base to be collected. I also route the power cord with it too. Once its on, you might find it interfering with your jigs, that will force you to reorient the router every so often.
Even with the low suction I have, when routing maple, I had wood chips get stuck in the bend in the handle.
